Everglades Excursions-
Endless Exploration
Let us show you our favorite parts of the Everglades. Most people don' t realize that the southern 1/3rd of the park is comprised of wide-open Florida Bay, a coastline of endless mangrove forests and deserted sandy beach. A trip to the southernmost outpost of the Everglades is a trip to the Flamingo area. This journey is an excellent introduction to the Everglades National Park. As you cruise through the skinny channels that snake through the flats you may begin to understand the true nature and fragility of our Florida Bay. You will see abundant wildlife: white pelicans, roseate spoonbills, flamingos, alligators, dolphins, and possibly bald eagles!
Join us to explore this enchanted wonderland. We will take our time on the way over to discover nature or to drop a line in the water. Throughout these trips you will likely see extraordinary scenery and wildlife unique to the everglades ecosystem.
If you can extend your day, we can also visit Cape Sable. This pristine beach edges the southwest coast of the Florida
Everglades. Since it is only accessible by boat you will feel
as if you are truly in the middle of nowhere! There is something about
the birds song, the fish jumping and the lapping of the waves
here that dramatize the immense silence of the surroundings.
The unique location of this beach is perfect for shelling since
this is where the Gulf of Mexico meets the Florida Bay. You will
find periwinkles, whelks, razor clams, and conch littering the beach.
The shells are especially abundant after stormy weather.
Contact us via e-mail or phone to discuss the possibilities- will it be fishing, birding, eco-touring, shelling or a little of each?
