Captains Xavier and Elizabeth are convinced that to spend time on the water is balm for the soul.

Captain Xavier

Captain Xavier Figueredo hails from Cuba - arriving in the United States with his parents when he was 5 years old! He and his family hold a chapter in the rich history binding Cuba and America. Raised on Long Island, NY, the family thrived and Xavier went on to earn an education and advanced degrees in respiratory therapy from SUNY and the University of Colorado. He spent the first half of his career as a therapist working in the field and finally as the head of his department in the Penrose Hospital Complex.

He trades his scrubs for flip flops when he “retired” to the Florida Keys. He wouldn’t have it any other way.

Captain Elizabeth

Captain Elizabeth Jolin found her way to the Florida Keys via Washington D.C. After her rural Ohio upbringing (instilling the sound moral compass that can only come from the Midwest!), she went off to New England to earn a degree from Boston University. Extensive post-graduate travel abroad brought her to the nation’s capital. Thinking she wanted to live in the center of the political universe, she took up residence. A few short years of political mayhem cured her of her need to rub shoulders with the politically powerful.

After a ‘quick vacation’ in the Florida Keys, she reassessed her D.C. lifestyle, quickly put in her two weeks notice at work, packed her bags, bought a houseboat in Islamorada and never looked back.

With their daughter Sofia, Captain Elizabeth and Xavier have created a charmed life for themselves. They would love to share it with you and your family, on the water, in the Florida Keys.
